About Us

Keyworth Camera Club is situated in the large village of Keyworth, seven miles south of Nottingham. We are a happy, friendly club, renowned for our welcome to new members and visitors. Our programme has 3 main themes. The first is mainly built around listening to guest speakers who provide us with informative and entertaining talks that are always supported by lots of inspirational images and prints. Second wed have member nights which include workshops, critique nights and outdoor events where there will be expert advice on hand to give guidance and deal with any problems such as technical issues or composition. Finally our third theme is built around our competition events.

The emphasis is on enjoyment of our hobby and social interaction with fellow photographers coupled with a strong desire to help our members to become as good as they want to be as photographers. To aid that goal, we try to encourage members to meet outside of the regular Thursdays evenings and members have enjoyed many days out where both experienced and lesser experienced photographers can get together to progress their skills.

We support members in gaining photographic qualifications, entering external competitions, improving post production techniques and provide help for members who are just beginning to start taking photographs and who are looking for hands on advice and guidance from our more experienced members. So we are trying to provide something for everyone with an interest in photography.

Membership is open to all, regardless of the level of photographic ability and people just starting out will find a wealth of knowledge and help from our present members. Our members have very wide subject interest; we are strong in Natural History, other members specialise in landscape, monochrome, architecture, creative and almost every style of photography can be seen at KCC. Digital, print and transparency styles are all accommodated so whether you have the latest DSLR, a traditional point and shoot or even a Box Brownie, your images would find a place with us.

Several members have high photographic distinctions; some are professional photographers, others semi-professional, advanced amateur and people just starting to do photography; there is a place for everyone here.

KCC is affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain through its membership of the North & East Midlands Photographic Federation.

We meet every Thursday evening from September to May, starting at 7.45pm. We also offer monthly outdoor events during the summer months where members can try out new techniques and get advice from more experienced members.

Why not come along and see what is on offer – you will be very welcome as a guest at one of our events – just look at the events page and select a date and then simply turn up!

We use a mix of live and zoom meetings with our live meetings held at:

The Parochial Church Hall, Corner of Selby Lane and Elm Avenue, Keyworth, Nottingham, NG12 5AN.
