Members Night – Clive and Amanda

Keyworth Camera Club held its first members night of the new season on September 16th. New member Clive, with a small section from Amanda, entertained us for the whole evening. Clive started by sharing their background, before telling us he had only really been into photography for three years.

Clive explained how he’d gone on a couple of workshops but found that he didn’t really learn anything as they seemed to be all about taking photographs where everything had been set up beforehand, so all his learning had been done by trial and error.

Clive’s favourite subject is sport and we were treated to many photographs covering a wide variety such as rugby, athletics, canoeing and motorsports of the two wheeled kind. Clive also showed some of his macro work in nature, saying he likes to use a limited depth-of-field when doing this so only a bit of the subject is sharp. Landscapes and portraits were also covered.

Amanda showed examples of her composites, often with a humorous touch. Her other favourite subject is food photography, and she said what could be better than being able to eat your props after photographing them?

We’d like to thank Clive and Amanda for sharing their photography with us in a very entertaining manner.
