December 2022 Review

December was a shortened month as the club was closed over the Christmas and New Year weeks, but we still held three well attended meetings.

On December 1st we were visited by Chris Dale who gave us an excellent and inspiring talk called The Local Landscape. Will we see any of our members getting out of their warm beds to be on location before first light to capture similar images in beautiful light and atmospheric conditions?

December 3rd was the third heat of our internal competition. This was for prints – the first such competition since Covid. The four sections, colour, monochrome, nature, and the theme of motion drew in 70 prints that were spread fairly evenly over the four categories. Phil Peat cast his expert eye across our photographs and chose the four images you can see accompanying this post as the winners. To see who the winners were and and view all placed photographs then please follow this link: https://keyworthcameraclub.org.uk/round-three-2022-23

Our final December meeting was held on the 15th when we welcomed Lois Webb to the club room. Lois showed us many images taken whilst she lived in China. Many of her images were taken away from the usual tourist trails and covered the length and breadth of the country. We also learned lots of fascinating facts about the country, its people, and its traditions – such as why you often see red underwear hanging outside homes.
