N&EMPF Exhibition 2022
An annual club highlight is the viewing by members of the N&EMPF Exhibition video and this year did not disappoint. Although the number of entries this year was lower than last year, the standard was still high and from 312 entrants 190 achieved at least one acceptance.
The images in the mono and colour sections covered a wide range of subject matter but it was pointed out that this year, sports images accounted for one third of all acceptances. Tennis, motorcycling, rugby and athletics were very well represented. In more general genres nearly every continent was visited from Amsterdam to Venice via Iceland, San Francisco and many more countries and cities. The nature section again produced some amazing photographs and comment was made about some rather unusual and unconventional titles appearing more often than in previous years. Landscapes still prove to be unfashionable with only 1 award winning image this year from over 60 acceptances.
Keyworth Camera Club members once again achieved a good overall result with 6 members gaining a total of 18 acceptances. It was especially good to see new member Clive Wood gaining his first acceptance with his mono image “Pals”. Steve Myall, Rob Inglis and Paul Burrows collected 9 images between them. David Kissman produced another good return with 5 acceptances including a “Commended” for his mono hockey image “Getting Down Low”. Gavin Brand, who has only been entering competitions for a couple of years bagged 3 acceptances including 2 fantastic “Highly Commended” awards for his mono image “Steps” and an excellent Nature image “Brown Hare”.
Once again it was clear that the evening had provided members with plenty of inspiration and ideas and a few talking points. Finally, it was agreed that Jim Hartje and Ashley Franklin had done a great job in producing another top-quality show that kept everyone engaged, informed and entertained.
