KCC Members support The Air Ambulance
Gavin, Paul, Stephen and David made up a fourball at Blankney Golf Club in aid of the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance.
Despite a few light showers and one particularly heavy one, all four had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.
The day started at around 11.30 with bacon butties and coffee, followed by a briefing on the competition for the day. There was also the opportunity for the purchase of raffle tickets and entry into the competition to guess how many people put the ball in one of the seven bunkers on the first of the par three holes.
After the first twelve holes afternoon tea was provided, as seen in the picture above, and the final six holes were completed following this welcome refreshment break.
The 18th hole had a prize for the straightest drive. Standing on the tee we could see that the board for the ball closest was almost on the line. But it just wasn’t close enough to win as our club secretary, David, hit his drive almost on to the line itself and he wasn’t bettered by the groups following us. Well done to David.
After the round it was a meal and drinks in the clubhouse before the presentations. Unfortunately the team didn’t get into the prizes this year after being second in 2018, but all four did have success in the raffle.
The Charity were pleased to announce that from the raffle and bunker competition over £1100 was raised. The full total for the day will be advised to us in due course. They welcome as much money as the can raise as it costs on average £2500 for every mission they go out on and they do not receive any government funding. The Camera Club are very happy that the four members have been able to help in raising funds for such a fabulous charity.
