New Year Social 2020

The winning team

This evening saw us hold our club social night, an event we save for January as something to look forward to after all the hectic celebrations of Christmas and New Year are out of the way.

It was fantastic to see the room full with around 40 members and guests attending. Many thanks need to go to Rob for the hard work in arranging and co-ordinating the evening to ensure it ran smoothly.

Also well done to all those attending who helped provide such a great variety of food, with hot dishes ranging from jacket potatoes to vegetarian chilli and many others. Then to follow there was a fabulous range of desserts to get stuck into. Thanks too to all those who help set up and clear away.

As well as lots of great food, drink and good banter, we had a range of different quizzes starting with a “Who, What, Where” picture one and a photography based picture test, with thanks to Stephen and Chris for compiling these.

After the food we moved on to the Music Quiz, which included rounds with translated lyrics, songs in reverse and guess the year. Thanks go to the Chairman Paul for putting this one together.

At the end of the evening, and after all the marks had been totted up, we had a winning team, who can be seen with big smiles on their faces after storming to victory by 1/2 a point. Well done to them and commiserations to the other teams.

All in all we can say that it was an extremely successful evening and we will certainly be putting it in the calendar of events again for next season.
