Fourth Competition Evening 2019-2020

The fourth round of our internal competitions were held on February 27th. These were for dpi entries only in the following categories; Monochrome, Colour and Nature. Once again, these competitions attracted a massive entry, so many that we were forced to drop everyone’s third photograph in each section to try and make the task of judging them manageable in one evening. Even after doing this our judge, Carol McNiven Young FRPS AFIAP CPAGB BPE2* still had a total of 102 images to assess entered by 16 of our members.

All sections contained some very strong work and Carol tackled the job of critiquing them admirably and confidently, her comments of praise, encouragement and suggestions of how to better our work welcomed by the audience.

Each section saw Carol holding back a number of images for the top positions, and when making those final decisions, Carol congratulated the membership on presenting her with some excellent and high-quality work to make her final choices from. Carol also commented on how much she’d enjoyed looking at and appraising our work.

We’d like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Carol for her knowledgeable and thoughtful assessment of our photographs that were highly appreciated by our membership.

All the placed and commended images can be seen on our competition page by clicking here
