The 2022 N&EMPF Interclub Competition

Keyworth Camera Club entered this competition for the second successive year having come a very creditable 9th equal out of the 25 clubs that entered in 2021. This year there were 23 clubs entered. The judging was conducted earlier in the month by Barbara Jenkin, Roy Lambeth and Clive Tanner and then a slide show of all 460 images was shown at the event via Zoom on Sunday 13th March and scores were announced for each of the images as they appeared on screen.

There were several members from Keyworth C.C. watching thescoring as it progressed and excitedly exchanging views via WhatsApp about how well we were doing. Sure enough, when all the maths was completed and the results were announced in reverse order it soon became clear that we had exceeded our good result of 2021. We were placed 5th having accumulated 190 points which saw us just one point behind Beeston C.C. on 191 and 2 points behind Bolsover C.C. who were in 3rd place on 192.

Special mention must be made of Paul Burrows as his entry of Roesel’s Bush Cricket Nymph scored 14 points (out of 15) and was given a “Commended” rating by the judges. There were also 13 marks for one image each by Rob Inglis, Steve Myall, David Kissman, and Gavin Brand.

Undoubtedly a great result for our little club, made up of local photographers, and we are certainly up there now with the “big guns” in the federation although we still have a long way to go if we are going to catch Rolls Royce …. but we will keep trying!
