May 2023 Review
May was the final month of Keyworth Camera Club’s 2022/23 season and we were treated to four weeks of excellent entertainment.
May 4th – Camera Clubs, My Takeaway by Paul Burrows
Paul is a member of Keyworth CC and this talk was based around the growing knowledge he had gained from the club. He covered a wide variety of topics explaining what he had learnt from other members, visiting lecturers and judges. This had all helped improved his photography; taught him how to take better family snaps before moving on to successfully enter competitions in the club, the UK, and worldwide. Paul really did explain the benefits of being a Keyworth CC member. Inspirational indeed.
May 11th – Members Outdoor Event
On this evening everyone was sent out round the village with a list of subjects to photograph with the idea of showing their best five images on the last night of the season. The evening finished off back in the hall with a cuppa and an informative discussion about what the members would like to see take place in the coming season.
May 18th – Sports Images with Impact 2 by David Keep
Having seen Sports Images with Impact 1 a couple of years ago, we welcomed the opportunity to see more of David’s top class sports images. A lot of his photographs are meticulously planned and it was stunningly obvious why he takes so much time setting up these shoots and it was easy to see why he has won so many awards world-wide for his eye-catching images.
May 25th – Social Evening and Award Night
With the prints used in the recent N&EMPF Print Championships on display this evening saw five images shown and briefly discussed that were taken on the night of May 11th. Our programme secretary also gave is a run-through of next seasons programme which will be available on our website soon. We were also treated to a fabulous AV that showed all the placed images in the heats of our internal competition. The evening ended with the presentation of the awards for these competitions and you can see the Chairman’s Choice Award accompanying this post. This was won by Tony Walker for his photograph Tide Out Under the Severn Bridge.
