Common Blue is a Winner

We are very pleased to announce that Paul Burrows was notified yesterday that his image “Common Blue” was chosen by the National Trust as the winner of their Instagram competition to celebrate the #BigButterflyCount.

Paul told us that the image was taken on Friday afternoon whilst on a walk to the Nature Reserve in Keyworth. He mentioned he spotted the butterfly flitting about at the side of the lane and waited until it settled before getting down on hands and knees to capture it.

The same day, Paul said he saw the competition whilst looking through Instagram and thought as he had taken this and another butterfly image, he would post them and include the relevant hashtags. As there were many 100’s of people entering Paul thought nothing more of it until he was tagged in a post from the National Trust saying he had won.

We would like to congratulate Paul on an excellent image and his success, and you can see the Instagram post, which has been liked by almost 12000 people at the time of writing, by following this link Instagram
