February 2023 Review

On February 4th Keyworth Camera Club held their fourth internal competition. Dave Hollingsworth CPAGB visited us to cast his critical eye over our entries. Dave had three pdi categories to judge; Colour, Nature, and the theme of automotive. All three sections were well supported, so Dave had his work cut out for him when selecting the winners. You can see each category winning images in this review with details of the winners and all the placed photographs, please follow this link: https://keyworthcameraclub.org.uk/round-four-2022-23

Lester Woodward gave us a presentation called So You Want to Shoot Somebody on February 9th. This was an entertaining and informative evening covering photographing models, be they friends, amateur models, or professional. There was plenty of ideas for where to photograph them, where to source models, and how to light them.

February 16th was a critique night. Members submitted images they’d like critiqued and one of our members, Brian Garner cast his eye over the photographs explaining how he thought they could be improved. Brian has recently joined N&EMPF’s judging list. The night was well supported and enjoyed by all.

We finished February on the 23rd by showing the DVD of the accepted pdi images in N&EMPF’s Annual Exhibition. This showcased some very inspirational photography from photographers in our federation backed by Ashley Franklin’s entertaining commentary. 24 of the shown images came from our members.
