December 2023 Review

December started with a bang, a superb evening from a very entertaining and terrific photographer. On the 7th, KCC were visited by Ray Brammell ARPS, EFIAP, DPAGB, APAGB who gave us a talk called All Kinds of Everything. Ray showed us many fabulous prints that covered a wide variety of subjects and his observations about the background to his photographs, or comments about them from other people, were packed with humorous tales that had us laughing out loud time and again. This presentation surely has to be one of the highlights of the season.

On December 14th we had the third heat of our internal competition. This was a DPI round that contained the following sections: Monochrome, Nature, and the theme of Decay. Casting a critical eye over our work was Carol McNiven-Young FRPS, DPAGB, EFIAP/s, BPE5 and, as always, her comments were on point and very encouraging. The three section winners and all the placed images can be seen by following this link: https://keyworthcameraclub.org.uk/round-three-2023-24

Our final meeting for December was held on the 21st and this brough a close to the first half of our season in fine style. This was for our members and their spouses and consisted of a wonderful and tasty spread of food and drink, alongside six rounds of quizzing fun which included anagrams of photography terms, and dingbats. A smashing time was had by all.

We are now taking a short break to celebrate Christmas and the New Year and our next meeting will be held on January 11th when Tony Bramley FRPS with visit us via Zoom to give us a presentation called My Kinda Streets. You can find more details about this, and more, on our website. https://keyworthcameraclub.org.uk/
