November 2022 Review

The programme for November gave Keyworth Camera Club members a wide variety of subject matter to be inspired by, along with many different techniques to try in our quest to ever better our photography.

November 3rd was the second round of our internal competition which comprised the following sections; Monochrome, Nature, and the theme of Angles. Sue Hartley DPAGB assessed our work and provided us with many helpful tips for improving our photography. The three images accompanying this post are the section winners and you can see all the placed photographs by following this link:

On November 10th photographic artist Kathryn Cooper from Sheffield gave us a fascinating talk about her path into photography which led to her creating some stunning creative images of starling murmurations that were a joy to behold. No wonder she has won numerous awards for them.

A last minute change to the programme saw club member Steve Myall BPE5* EFIAP step in on November 17th and give his presentation called 100 Strangers. This was a fascinating look at his project to go up to people he’s never met before in the street and ask if he could photograph them right there and then. As well as plenty of advice on approaching people and ideas of how to photograph them, Steve included many humorous stories too, making this a fun evening.

November 24th was the final meeting of the month and Robert Falconer visited us from Derbyshire to give us a talk about his visit to Iceland. Full of stunning landscapes including geysers, icebergs and the Northern Lights. Roberts understanding and use of natural light made this a memorable night.
